A world-class winery committed to environmental excellence chose Hoot for their final sustainability upgrade — 2,400 GPD of the cleanest possible effluent, protecting Napa Valley’s sensitive soils and waterways.
Artesa Vineyards and Winery had spent years implementing environmental improvements across every aspect of their operation — from energy use to water conservation to sustainable farming practices. The last remaining upgrade was their aging septic treatment system. The new system needed to handle 2,400 gallons per day of commercial-strength wastewater and deliver the highest achievable level of environmental performance — not just meet the minimum standard, but set the standard.
RSA Civil Engineers in Napa evaluated the site and specified two Hoot H-1000 BNR-Series advanced treatment tanks, supplemented by an ACT-2000 Self-Cleaning Filtration System for maximum effluent quality. A four-zone dispersal field was designed for even distribution across the property, with the original field retained as backup capacity. Artesa specifically selected Hoot for its NSF-certified results of better than 5/5 mg/L on CBOD and TSS — a 99% reduction that no other system could match.
Artesa achieved their environmental goal — the most advanced wastewater treatment available for their site. The dual H-1000 system handles the winery’s full daily flow with exceptional effluent quality, protecting Napa Valley’s sensitive soils and waterways. It was the final piece of one of California’s most comprehensive commercial sustainability programs.
