Our Story
Superior On-Site Solutions was founded by Rick and Robin in 2005 with a clear mission: bring the most advanced on-site wastewater treatment technology to California property owners, engineers, and contractors who need solutions that actually work on challenging sites.
In 2007, we delivered and brought online the very first Hoot system in California — on a solid-rock hillside in Ophir, Placer County, where conventional septic was impossible. That system is still running today.
Rick leads field operations as our lead Hoot specialist — handling delivery, tank-top connections, system startup, and direct customer support for every project. In 2012, the team grew with the addition of our nephew, Peter Wajda, who now serves as Service Manager and leads field service across our 25+ county region. Together, Rick, Robin, and Peter have built Superior On-Site Solutions into California’s go-to resource for advanced Hoot wastewater treatment.

2007 — California’s First Hoot System
Delivered and brought online in Ophir, Placer County on a solid-rock hillside where conventional septic was physically impossible. This project proved that advanced aerobic treatment could solve California’s most difficult on-site wastewater challenges. That system is still operating today — nearly 20 years later.

California requires a lifetime Operation & Maintenance agreement for every Hoot system sold. That means every system we deliver comes with an ongoing service relationship — not just a one-time sale. We’re committed to every system we sell and commission for the life of that system.
