Septic Inspections
Professional Evaluations for Hoot & Advanced Treatment Systems

Buying or selling a property? Concerned about your system’s performance? Our thorough inspections give you a clear, honest picture of what’s happening below the surface — from the tank to the dispersal field.

Know Before There’s a Problem

Why a Professional Septic Inspection Matters

A septic system is one of the most expensive components of a property — and one of the easiest to overlook because it’s underground and out of sight. Problems that go undetected can escalate quickly into sewage backups, drain field failures, and costly emergency repairs.

At Superior On-Site Solutions, our inspections are performed by technicians who specialize in advanced treatment systems — including Hoot BNR and ANR systems — not just conventional septic tanks. We know what to look for, what it means, and what needs to happen next. Call us at 916-436-8457 to schedule your inspection.

Buying or selling a property with a Hoot system? A Hoot inspection requires someone who understands the technology. We’re the authorized California manufacturer — there’s no one more qualified to evaluate it.

What We Check

What Our Inspections Include

Every inspection covers the full system — from the inlet to the dispersal area. We don’t do visual-only checks. We test, probe, and document.

Tank Condition

Structural integrity assessment of the tank, including inlet and outlet baffles, lids, risers, and access points.

Component Function

For Hoot and advanced systems — blower operation, pump activation, float testing, alarm function, and panel diagnostics.

System Flow

Testing wastewater movement through the treatment process to confirm the system is processing and discharging properly.

Dispersal Field Review

Visual inspection of the drain or drip field for signs of surfacing, saturation, odor, or distribution failure.

Leak & Blockage Check

Identification of potential leaks, blockages, or failing components that could lead to system backup or environmental impact.

Written Report

A clear, documented summary of findings with honest recommendations for maintenance, repair, or further evaluation.

Common Reasons to Schedule

When to Get a Septic Inspection

  • Before purchasing a property with an existing septic system
  • Before listing a property for sale
  • When you notice slow drains, odors, or wet spots near the drain field
  • When a Hoot alarm has triggered and you want a full system evaluation
  • When your system hasn’t been serviced or inspected in several years
  • When adding bedrooms, ADUs, or other improvements that increase system load
  • As part of annual or routine O&M compliance
Frequently Asked Questions

Septic Inspection FAQs

How long does an inspection take?

Most inspections take 1–2 hours depending on system type, site conditions, and access. Hoot and advanced system inspections may take slightly longer due to the additional components involved.

Do you provide a written report?

Yes. Every inspection includes a written summary of findings and any recommended next steps — suitable for real estate transactions or personal records.

Can you inspect any brand of advanced system?

We specialize in Hoot advanced treatment systems. We can evaluate other aerobic systems as well — call us to discuss your specific system.

How often should I have my system inspected?

At minimum, annually as part of your O&M service agreement. More frequently if you’ve had performance issues or the system is older.
