Hoot System Support for
Engineers & Consultants

Technical documentation, design support, field verification, and county coordination for California engineers and consultants specifying Hoot advanced treatment systems.

Technical Partnership

Your Authorized California Hoot Source — From Design Through Approval

Superior On-Site Solutions works directly with engineers, geologists, civil designers, and environmental health consultants to support Hoot wastewater treatment projects throughout California. As the state’s only authorized Hoot manufacturer and distributor, we provide engineering-grade documentation and field support that keeps your projects moving from concept through county approval.

We understand California’s LAMP requirements, county-specific submittal expectations, and the site conditions that make each project unique. Our support is grounded in 15+ years of real field experience across Placer, Yolo, Sacramento, Santa Cruz, Napa, and dozens of other California counties.

Design Support

What We Provide for Your Design Process

We help confirm system sizing, treatment expectations, dispersal integration, and project feasibility for sites with challenging conditions:

System Sizing

BNR and ANR sizing recommendations based on bedroom count, flow rates, and site-specific conditions. Tank specs from H600 through H1250.

Dispersal Integration

Guidance on drip field sizing, pressure dosing, gravity options, and Geoflow integration. All approved dispersal methods supported.

Hydraulic Calculations

Flow rate analysis, pretreatment sizing, pump curve data, and blower/aeration performance specifications.

Nitrogen Reduction

BNR vs. ANR selection guidance for nitrogen-sensitive zones. Performance data and effluent quality documentation for regulatory submissions.

Traffic-Rated Options

Structural specifications for driveway and parking area installations. Load ratings, rebar design, and county-specific documentation.

Commercial Scaling

Multi-tank configurations, DO sensor integration, VFD controls, and high-flow commercial design support.

Technical Documentation

Submittal-Ready Engineering Packages

We supply complete technical packets for engineering submittals and county review. All documentation is formatted for California OWTS policy requirements and county LAMP programs.

  • BNR and ANR specification sheets — performance data, NSF certification, effluent quality
  • CAD drawings in DWG and PDF format — plan views, sections, details
  • Electrical schematics — panel wiring, blower specs, pump curves
  • Manufacturer cut sheets for all components
  • County-specific system descriptions and approval documentation
  • Sampling guidelines and chain-of-custody protocols where required
  • Operation & Maintenance program descriptions for permit submittals

Need something specific? If a county or reviewing agency needs a particular document format, additional performance data, or site-specific calculations, we prepare that for you. Just ask.

Field Support

Before, During, and After Construction

Our field team collaborates with engineers and designers throughout the construction phase to confirm every installed system matches the engineered specifications.

  • Pre-construction: Site feasibility review, soil condition assessment, layout verification
  • During construction: Component verification, back pressure and aeration checks, placement confirmation
  • Post-construction: System startup, inspector coordination, sampling (if required), troubleshooting support
  • Ongoing: O&M service, compliance reporting, long-term performance monitoring
Common Applications

Sites We Regularly Support

Constrained Lots

Small parcels, limited setbacks, minimal dispersal area — we engineer compact solutions that get approved.

Challenging Soils

Restrictive layers, high clay content, shallow groundwater — Hoot systems work where conventional systems can’t.

Nitrogen-Sensitive Areas

Watershed protection zones, near wells, nitrogen-sensitive designations — ANR system documentation and design support.

ADUs & Additions

System capacity verification and upgrade design for accessory dwelling units and home additions.

Multi-Unit & Shared

Shared system design, multi-unit flow calculations, and high-capacity commercial configurations.

Property Transfers

System evaluation, inspection support, and compliance documentation for real estate transactions.

Technical FAQs

Frequently Asked Engineering Questions

What nitrogen reduction can be expected from the BNR vs. ANR?
The Hoot BNR achieves up to 60% total nitrogen reduction along with 98% CBOD5 and 99% TSS reduction. The ANR achieves 85% total nitrogen reduction — NSF-certified to exceed EPA’s 10mg/L drinking water nitrogen standard. It’s the highest-certified nitrogen reduction available in any treatment system.
Are Hoot systems compatible with pressure dosing?
Yes — all Hoot systems from H600 through H1250 are approved for all distribution methods including pressure-dose, gravity, drip, and others.
Are Hoot systems appropriate for high groundwater sites?
Yes, when correctly elevated and paired with the appropriate dispersal configuration. We can provide site-specific guidance and documentation for high groundwater applications.
Do you provide electrical schematics?
Yes — complete panel wiring diagrams, pump curves, and blower specifications are included in our engineering documentation package.
Which California counties have you worked in?
We have installations and approved submittals across more than 24 California counties, including Placer, Sacramento, Yolo, El Dorado, Napa, Sonoma, Santa Cruz, Lake, and many more. We understand the county-specific LAMP requirements and submittal expectations for each.
